Focus Timer
A minimalistic productivity timer with customizable work and break sessions to help students stay focused while studying.
About Focus Timer
Set a work interval, hit start, and Focus Timer counts you down through focused study blocks separated by short breaks. The layout is deliberately bare — just a timer, your session length, and nothing else competing for your attention. It follows the productivity principle of working in structured bursts rather than grinding through hours of distracted effort.
You can customize how long each work session runs and how long your breaks last, so it adapts whether you prefer classic 25-minute Pomodoro cycles or longer deep-work stretches. There's no account to create and nothing to configure beyond those two numbers. If you also want somewhere to capture ideas between sessions, Task Manager pairs well for tracking what you actually need to accomplish.
Focus Timer works best on a laptop or desktop where you can keep it in a corner of your screen while your notes or reading fill the rest — the minimal interface is sized to stay out of the way.
How to use
This is a productivity timer that helps you focus by alternating between work sessions and breaks using the Pomodoro Technique. **Basic Controls:** - Click "START" to begin your first work session - Click "STOP" to pause the timer (button changes to "RESUME") - Click "RESET" to restart the current session from the beginning **How It Works:** 1. The timer starts with a work session (default 25 minutes) 2. Focus on your tasks while the countdown runs 3. When time expires, you'll hear an audio alert and automatically switch to a break session (default 5 minutes) 4. During breaks, step away from your work and rest your eyes 5. After the break, you'll switch back to another work session 6. Repeat this cycle as needed **Customization:** - Click "settings" in the top navigation to adjust work and break durations - Set times that work best for your schedule and attention span **Goal:** Maintain focus during work periods and take regular breaks to prevent eye strain and mental fatigue, boosting overall productivity.
