About Factors
Each round, you start with a number and apply addition and division to push it as close to 1 as possible. That's the whole rule set — but choosing which operations to chain, and in what order, turns out to be a genuinely tricky puzzle. Small decisions compound fast, and a sequence that looks efficient on move one can paint you into a corner by move three.
It's a strong fit for anyone who enjoys number-based education games that reward thinking over reflex. If you like working with mathematical relationships, Graphing Calculator pairs well as a tool for exploring the functions behind the patterns you'll notice here.
No stylus or special setup needed — Factors plays cleanly on a keyboard or touchscreen, and most sessions run under ten minutes, making it easy to squeeze in a round between other things.
How to use
**Objective:** Move your number down through the game board to get as close to 1 as possible using the fewest moves. Keep your average score low across all levels. **Controls:** • Use arrow keys or swipe left/right to position yourself horizontally • Press down arrow or swipe down to move forward one row • Press up arrow or swipe up to restart the current level **Game Rules:** • When your number hits a factor (a number that divides evenly into yours), you divide by that number • When your number hits any other number, you add that number to yours • Example: If you're 12 and hit 3, you become 4 (12÷3). If you hit 5, you become 17 (12+5) **Strategy Tips:** • Look for factors to reduce your number quickly • Avoid non-factors when your number is already small • Some levels may not allow you to reach exactly 1 • Focus on getting the lowest possible number in minimum moves
