The Useless Button

There is a button. You click it. That's the whole premise — and somehow that's exactly enough. The Useless Button is a deadpan little experiment that dares you to keep clicking something that, by its own admission, does absolutely nothing. Except sometimes it does. Sort of. The app plays it completely straight, which is most of the fun.

It works best as a two-minute detour rather than a destination — the kind of thing you share with a friend just to watch their face cycle through confusion, skepticism, and then a reluctant smile. It belongs comfortably in the interactive category, though calling it interactive is itself part of the joke.

No setup required, no account needed — just a mouse or a finger and a willingness to feel mildly gaslit by a webpage. Works fine on mobile, but a physical click on desktop gives the experience that little extra tactile dignity it probably deserves.
