About Tic-Tac-Toe
Pick a corner, claim the center, or go straight for the win — classic tic-tac-toe puts you against an AI opponent across three difficulty levels, from forgiving beginner to a ruthless computer that will not let a sloppy move slide. Each match takes under a minute, making it easy to squeeze in a round between tasks or kill time while waiting for something else.
If you want to test your abstract thinking against a machine, this is a clean, distraction-free way to do it. It also supports two-player mode on the same screen, so you can settle debates the old-fashioned way. Fans of classic strategy games will feel right at home, and anyone warming up for something deeper might enjoy pairing it with Chess once they're in the mood for a longer match.
Controls are mouse-click only — no keyboard shortcuts needed — and the board scales well on both desktop and mobile screens.
How to use
• Choose your symbol (X or O) and select AI difficulty (Easy, Medium, or Hard) • Click "New Game (vs CPU)" to start playing • Click any empty square on the 3x3 grid to place your mark • Goal: Get three of your marks in a row horizontally, vertically, or diagonally before the computer does • X always goes first - if you choose O, the computer moves first • The turn indicator shows whose move it is • Scores track your wins, computer wins, and ties across multiple rounds • Click the restart button (circular arrow) to restart the current game • After each round, choose "Next Round" to continue or "Quit" to return to the main menu • The computer will show "thinking" while calculating its move • Use keyboard navigation: Tab to move between squares, Enter/Space to select
