About Reversi
Each turn, you place a disc and flip every opponent piece caught between your new disc and another of yours — a simple rule that hides a surprising amount of strategy. Corners are everything. Edges matter. One careless move in the opening can leave you squeezed out by the midgame, watching your black discs flip to white one by one.
The AI opponent keeps the pressure on at a consistent level, making it a solid way to sharpen your reading of the board. If you find you like thinking several moves ahead, strategy games on Launch Arcade cover a lot of similar territory. Chess goes in a different direction but rewards the same kind of patient, positional thinking.
The full 8×8 grid takes up a fair amount of screen space, so a tablet or desktop monitor gives you a cleaner view of the whole board — especially useful when you're tracking long diagonal flip chains.
How to use
• **Objective**: Capture more pieces than your opponent by trapping their pieces between yours • **Controls**: Click on any highlighted square to place your piece • **Setup**: Choose Single Player (vs AI) or Local Multiplayer (vs human) from the top menu • **Gameplay**: - Black goes first - You can only place pieces where you can trap opponent pieces in a straight line (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal) - All trapped opponent pieces flip to your color - If no valid moves available, your turn is skipped - Game ends when board is full or neither player can move • **Winning**: Player with the most pieces of their color wins • **Interface**: - Scores shown on left (black) and right (white) - Valid moves are highlighted on the board - Use restart button to start over
