About Hearts
Your goal is simple: avoid taking hearts and the queen of spades. Each trick you're stuck with chips away at your score, and the first player to stay under the threshold when someone else busts through 100 points wins. The AI opponents play a real game — they'll pass you dangerous cards, duck out of suits at the right moment, and occasionally attempt to shoot the moon, taking every penalty card to flip the score on everyone else.
It's a faithful version of the classic trick-taking game that's been a staple at kitchen tables for decades. If you enjoy thoughtful card and strategy games, Hearts rewards patience and reading the table more than speed or reflexes. Players who like deliberate, turn-based challenges should feel right at home. Chess is worth a look too if you want more head-to-head AI play in a similar vein.
Best played with a few minutes to spare — a full round typically runs four to eight hands, and the game saves your progress so you can step away without losing your seat.
How to use
• **Objective:** Avoid penalty points. Each heart card gives 1 point, Queen of Spades gives 13 points. Lowest score wins when someone reaches 100 points. • **Controls:** Click cards to select them. Drag and drop cards to play them or use the designated play area. • **Game Flow:** 1. Select 3 cards to pass to another player each round 2. Click "Pass Cards" to confirm your selection 3. Play one card per trick, following suit if possible 4. Player with 2 of Clubs leads the first trick • **Special Rules:** - Cannot play hearts or Queen of Spades on first trick - Must follow the suit led if you have it - If you can't follow suit, play any card - Taking all hearts and Queen of Spades ("shooting the moon") gives you 0 points and others 26 points • **Hints:** Use the Hint button for card play suggestions • **Scoring:** Check the scoreboard to track points across rounds
