About Cribbage
Each hand, you're dealt six cards, choose two to bury in the crib, then score runs, pairs, and fifteens before pegging your way along the board. Cribbage rewards the kind of thinking that happens between plays — reading what your opponent might have buried, deciding when to play defensively. The AI here gives you a genuine challenge without feeling random or cheap.
If you've never played before, the scoring system has a bit of a learning curve, but it clicks quickly once you see a few hands scored in full. Veterans will appreciate that this sticks to the classic rules without unnecessary frills. It sits comfortably alongside other card and strategy games worth returning to, and fans of deliberate, turn-based play might also enjoy Chess, which offers a similarly thoughtful solo experience.
Best played with a few uninterrupted minutes — a full game to 121 typically takes around fifteen to twenty rounds.
