Your ship sits at the bottom of the screen, and the enemy formations are already descending. Space Shooter is a straight-ahead 2D arcade experience: dodge incoming fire, grab power-ups to strengthen your weapons, and survive as many waves as you can while chasing a higher score each run. The loop is tight — a few seconds of calm, then a burst of chaos that demands quick reflexes and deliberate movement.
It fits squarely in the tradition of classic arcade games, with no story mode or progression system to worry about. What you get is pure, focused action that rewards pattern recognition over time. If you also enjoy testing your reaction speed in a different format, Reflex is worth a look.
Keyboard controls keep things precise — arrow keys or WASD to move, spacebar to fire — and most runs last under five minutes, making it easy to squeeze in a quick session or chain several together chasing your personal best.
How to use
• Use arrow keys or WASD to move your spaceship around the screen • Press spacebar to shoot projectiles at incoming enemies • Destroy enemy invaders before they reach you or shoot you down • Each enemy destroyed increases your score • Avoid enemy projectiles - getting hit ends the game • Enemy invaders move in formation and gradually descend toward your position • The game gets progressively more challenging as you advance • Try to achieve the highest score possible before being defeated • Click Start to begin, and Restart to play again after game over
