About Paperlike Roguelike
Each run drops you into a procedurally generated dungeon where you navigate room by room, managing stamina as carefully as hit points. Attack too aggressively and you'll exhaust yourself before the next encounter; play too cautiously and the persistent world simulation quietly shifts against you. The minimalist ASCII-style presentation isn't a limitation — it keeps your focus on decisions rather than spectacle.
Paperlike Roguelike grew out of a project built for e-ink readers, which explains the high-contrast, low-animation design. That origin makes it equally comfortable on any screen, and the keyboard-driven controls mean a larger display genuinely helps — arrow keys map directly to movement and the full dungeon grid stays readable without squinting. If you enjoy this style of stripped-back puzzle-adjacent strategy, browsing the games catalog will turn up more to dig into — Launch Nonogram goes in a different direction but shares the same appreciation for clean logic over flashy visuals.
Runs are short enough to finish in a single sitting, so it rewards quick lunch-break play as much as longer sessions.
How to use
• Goal: Explore a procedurally generated dungeon, defeat enemies, and collect loot to survive as long as possible • Movement: Use arrow keys or tap the directional pad to move through rooms • Combat: Walk into enemies to attack them automatically • Stamina System: Every action consumes stamina, which regenerates at the end of your turn. Plan moves carefully. • Inventory: Tap the bag icon to open your inventory. Click items to select them, then use the icons to equip, use, or delete items. • Stats: Monitor your health (HP), stamina (ST), armor (AR), and damage in the top display • Room Simulation: When you leave a room and return, time will have passed and the situation may have changed • Equipment: Find and equip better weapons and armor to increase your combat effectiveness • Death: When your health reaches zero, you die and must start a new dungeon
