About Minesweeper
Each click is a calculated risk. Minesweeper puts you on a grid of hidden squares, and your job is to deduce which ones conceal mines using nothing but numbers and logic. Uncover a square, read the clue it gives you about neighboring mines, and work outward — flagging dangers as you go — until the board is clear.
Built from scratch without a game engine, this version is lean and fast. The logic is pure: no power-ups, no timers you didn't ask for, just the problem in front of you. If you enjoy grid-based deduction, other games in the catalog are worth browsing — and Launch Nonogram covers similar ground if you want a puzzle that trades probability for pure pattern-filling.
Minesweeper plays well with a mouse or trackpad, since precise single clicks and right-clicks are how you distinguish uncovering from flagging — touch works but the two gestures take a moment to get used to.
How to use
• Goal: Clear all squares without hitting a mine • Left-click any square to reveal what's underneath • Numbers show how many mines are adjacent to that square • Right-click to place/remove a flag on suspected mine locations • Use number clues to deduce where mines are hidden • If you click a mine, you lose the game • Win by revealing all safe squares (you don't need to flag every mine) • Click the smiley face to start a new game • Timer starts when you make your first move • Mine counter shows remaining unflagged mines • Empty squares will automatically reveal adjacent empty areas • Use logical deduction: if a "3" square touches exactly 3 flagged mines, all other adjacent squares are safe
