Rotate a hexagon. Match the falling colored blocks to the sides that share their color before the stacks climb too high. That's the whole game — and it will absolutely destroy your plans for the next twenty minutes. The speed ramps quickly, forcing snap decisions that feel more like reflex than strategy, right up until the moment you realize they're both.
Hextris sits squarely in the arcade games tradition of one-more-try compulsion. If you enjoy the tile-merging tension of 2048, the same "simple rules, brutal depth" loop is very much alive here. The hex geometry keeps things fresh — six sides means more to track than a standard grid, and your brain adapts faster than you'd expect.
Controls are arrow keys or A/D on desktop, with touch swipe support on mobile — it plays especially well on a phone in portrait mode during a short break.
How to use
Colored blocks fall toward a rotating hexagonal center. Your goal is to prevent blocks from stacking up and reaching the outer edge. Controls: • Left/Right arrow keys or A/D keys: Rotate the hexagon clockwise or counterclockwise • On mobile: Tap left or right side of screen to rotate Gameplay: • Blocks fall in straight lines toward the center hexagon • When 3 or more blocks of the same color connect, they disappear • Cleared blocks add to your score • Game ends when blocks reach the outer boundary • Speed increases as you progress Strategy: • Rotate the hexagon to position falling blocks next to matching colors • Plan ahead to create chain reactions for higher scores • Keep all sides of the hexagon relatively clear to avoid getting trapped The hexagon has 6 sides, so blocks can approach from any direction. Focus on matching colors quickly before the stacks get too high.
