About Core Defense
Your only tool is a rotating shield, and the organisms keep coming. Spin it left or right to deflect each wave of attackers before they breach your core — miss too many and it's over. The controls are minimal by design: two buttons, or the left and right arrow keys, but the challenge escalates fast enough that your fingers will feel it.
It's the kind of tight, score-chasing loop that fits squarely in the arcade games category — easy to understand in seconds, hard to put down once the waves start overlapping. If you enjoy testing your reflexes under pressure, Reflex is worth a look too.
Best played in short bursts; a single run rarely tops two minutes, which makes it a natural pick for a quick break.
How to use
• Click "Start game" to begin • Your goal is to protect the central core from destruction • Red projectiles are dangerous - block them by pressing and holding SPACEBAR to activate your shield • Green projectiles are safe - let them pass through to the core • Your shield appears as a temporary barrier when SPACEBAR is held down • Position your shield by moving your mouse cursor around the core • The game ends when too many red projectiles hit the core • Release SPACEBAR to deactivate the shield and save energy • Watch for increasing difficulty as more projectiles appear over time
