Pokemon Type Calculator
Full type matchup calculator for Pokemon. Check weaknesses, resistances, and immunities for any type combo. Supports dual types and both offense/defense modes.
About Pokemon Type Calculator
Pick any type combination — say, Water/Flying — and instantly see every threat it faces, every type it shrugs off, and every immunity it carries. Toggle between defense mode to scout your own team's weak spots and offense mode to find which types your moves hit hardest. Dual-type interactions are fully calculated, so you won't have to mentally stack charts mid-battle.
It's the kind of tool that earns its keep during team-building sessions, when you're debating whether that fourth-slot pick covers your Steel weakness or just doubles it. Pair it with Pokédex Gen 1–3 if you're sorting through early-generation mons and need both stat data and matchup math in one sitting.
Find it alongside other gaming tools in the catalog. Works entirely in the browser — no account, no install, best used on a second screen while your game is open.
How to use
This tool calculates Pokemon type effectiveness for battles and team planning. **Two Modes:** • Defending Mode: Select your Pokemon's types (up to 2) to see what attacks are strong/weak against it • Attacking Mode: Select one move type to see which Pokemon types it's effective against **Controls:** • Click the tabs at top to switch between Defending and Attacking modes • Click type buttons to select them (selected types have white borders) • Click "Clear" button to reset all selections • Click selected types again to deselect them **How It Works:** • In Defending mode, you can pick 1-2 types for dual-type Pokemon • Results show damage multipliers: 4x and 2x (weak to), 0.5x and 0.25x (resists), 0x (immune), 1x (normal) • In Attacking mode, pick one move type to see effectiveness against all defending types • Results categorize targets as Super Effective (2x), Not Very Effective (0.5x), No Effect (0x), or Normal (1x) The calculator automatically accounts for dual-type interactions where damage multipliers stack together.
